Background

Doctorlink has been one of our longest-running partners. We started working together in 2017, and since then, we have achieved a lot together, all the way until their exit to HealthHero in 2020. Since then, we have continued to work with HealthHero, building the next generation of HealthTech.

Challenge

The initial challenge Doctorlink faced was the need to develop a robust web frontend to launch to the market. They struggled to get the product to production quality with previous versions and had new designs to be implemented.

Team

Our team varied over the course of our partnership with Doctorlink. From 2 developers to over 5 developers. Some core members of the team included:

What we did

Over a total of 5 years of working with Doctorlink, we’ve managed to achieve a lot. Here are some notable accomplishments.

  • Launching their first publicly available web app in 3 months.
  • Launching their first mobile application and reached feature parity in 3 months.
  • Migrated a monolith solution to micro-services architecture.
  • Implemented a fully fledged design system and presented it at the Design System London conference.
  • Helped hire and interview their internal team.

The Project

The outcome

Doctorlink was eventually acquired by HealthHero. We now continue to work with HealthHero and provide them with top software engineers to contribute to the development of the wider platform.

Client's testimonial

What started as a small app has grown to over 10 million users in the UK. The platform also mitigates needless doctors' appointments by helping users determine if they can treat themselves. With a flexible development plan, Thought&Function continues to augment the internal dev team on new features.
